IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Loleath
Brundage
August 21, 1927 – April 23, 2025
Loleath "Toots" Weiler Brundage was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Moab, UT. And passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, in Ogden, UT. She has lived in Washington Terrace for the past 30 years.
She grew up in Kenilworth, UT. with her two sisters Charmaine and Janeen and her younger brother Karl. She was very proud of her hometown and graduated from High School in Price, UT. She was always proud to call herself a Carbon Dinosaur.
She moved to SLC, UT. soon after and became a waitress for several years at the China Village in downtown. It was at this restaurant where she would meet a Moab Uranium Mine owner Earl Brundage who would become her husband for 38 years. In 1956 Earl and his brother Dave sold their Uranium mine and headed to Red Bluff, CA. to build and operate a Chrome Mine 30 miles west of town mining Chromium ore. She quickly became the camp cook and always laughed that burnt toast in the oven is what she cooked best!
In May of 1957 their son Earl "Butch" Brundage Jr. was born. He was the light of her life. They would reside in Red Bluff for many years after the mine closed in 1960 and Earl became a Real Estate Broker. Toots was probably best known in Red Bluff for being a very popular waitress at the Peking Café. She loved working there and was very dear friends with Hap and Yulu Chow.
She was active with the local Tehama County Genealogical Society and was an avid sewer. Her biggest sewing project was making all 13 costumes for the High School play the King and I.
Throughout the years she was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She would teach early morning Seminary for 13+ years to the LDS high school students and that is when she really developed her love and understanding of her Savior Jesus Christ and His Gospel.
After Earl passed away in 1992, she stayed in Red Bluff until November of 1994 when she moved to Ogden, UT to be close to Butch and his family. She quickly became active in several groups including the Ogden Utah Genealogical Library, The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the Utah Quilt Guild. She was also excited to be closer to her sister Charmaine and with her niece Kathy they never missed the annual Meeting of the Quilt Guild where they would spend four straight days quilting, sewing and attending classes.
Activity in her LDS Ward was always top of her list where she would teach Gospel Doctrine class and Relief Society classes for several years. She leaves a legacy of love, laughter, a positive attitude, and strong belief in her Savior Jesus Christ. She was a true example of charity and selflessness and loved everyone unconditionally. She will be dearly missed after 97+ years on this earth.
Toots is proceeded in death by her husband Earl, her sisters Charmaine and Janeen, her brother Karl Weiler, Stepdaughter Amber McClain and Granddaughter Heather Brundage. We know she was looking forward to that reunion.
She leaves behind her son Earl Brundage (Brenda), and their children Nicole (Walter) Taylor, Richard Brundage, Stephanie Brundage Hoskins, Heather Brundage (deceased), Gary (Traci) Brundage, and Melissa (Kevin) Buttars. She had 22 Great Grandchildren.
