Lorayne ButlerOgden- Lorayne Butler, 88, beloved daughter of Mary Belle Garner and Victor Charles Butler, passed away of natural causes on June 10, 2011 at Crestwood Care Center. She formally lived at Gardens Assisted Living. Lorayne was born in Sugar City, Idaho on November 20, 1922. Her family later moved to Ogden where she attended public schools, graduating from Ogden High School in 1940. She attended Stevens-Henager Business College with an emphasis in secretarial and business courses.During WWII, Lorayne was employed at Defense Depot Ogden and the Naval Supply Depot. Later she was employed at business locations in the Ogden area.Lorayne was a lifetime member of the LDS church. She spent time collecting family histories and books written about members of her family. She enjoyed doing genealogy and keeping records of family reunions.Having a special love for small animals, especially dogs, Lorayne enjoyed the company of many pets in her home on Adams Avenue.Lorayne had a unique talent for composing poetry. Many of her cards and letters to family members would include original poems from Aunt Lorayne. Besides writing poetry, her hobbies included crossword puzzles, saving interesting newspaper clippings, art work, sewing, telephone calls and daily walks to visit friends and neighbors. Her collection of jewelry was a topic of conversation for those who knew her.We will miss Loraynes sense of humor and compassion.Lorayne was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dee J. Butler, USAF (Retired), of St. George, Max V. Butler of Michigan and sister Nedra B. Bachman of Eden. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jay G. Bachman of Eden, sister-in-law, Flora Nell Drake Butler of Michigan and many nieces and nephews.The family wishes to thank Leavitts Mortuary for their kindness and all of the people at Crestwood Care Center and The Gardens for their compassion and care throughout the years.Funeral services will be conducted at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street in Ogden on Monday June 13th, at 11:00 am.
