Lorayne was born March 16, 1919 in Deseret, Utah to Benjamin and Susan Bennett. She was their fifth of eight children. Lorayne passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in West Haven, Utah Lorayne married Aldred Van De Vanter on October 24, 1937. Together, they lived in five different states, Utah, Idaho, Washington, California, Nevada and back to Utah. Lorayne was a very beautiful and lovely woman who had many friends everywhere she went. She was also a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lorayne is survived by her son, Ronald Van De Vanter (Mel) of Mansura, Louisiana and her daughter Dixie Hill (Reed) of Marriott/Slaterville, Utah. Also surviving are her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years. A viewing will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service at Leavitts Mortuary, 836-36th St., Ogden, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend.
