Lorraine F. ImanOGDEN-Lorraine Forsberg Iman passed away on July 26, 2012 at the age of 86.She was born on September 19, 1925 in Pingree, North Dakota, the daughter of Dorothy Broderson Forsberg and Carl Forsberg. She was reared and educated in Pingree and graduated from Pingree High School in 1943 where she was also the class valedictorian. She married Ben W. Iman on August 10, 1945 in Portland, Oregon. They moved to Ogden in 1951 where he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad and they raised their family. Ben preceded her in death November 19, 1997.She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and volunteer in her church, fraternal organizations and community. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years serving on various committees and teaching Sunday school. Lorraine was active in United Methodist Women and chaired many Election Day Dinners and Rummage Sales raising money for mission projects. She was an active member of Miriam Chapter #14 OES and Daughters of the Nile. Lorraine was an exceptional seamstress and enjoyed sewing for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake City and the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Ogden. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, going to the cabin and spending time with her family.She is survived by three daughters, Julie Lorraine (Steve) Coley, Roy; Barbara Lee Iman, Kampala Uganda; Laurie Ann (Rod)Nichols, Ogden; four grandchildren, Dawn, Heather, Tyler and Ian and three great grandchildren, Shelby, Judd and Carter.She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers. Her family wishes to thank Legacy House of Ogden for the loving care they gave to their mother. A special thanks also goes to Aspire Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2012, at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, with Rev. Alane Currier Griggs officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Shriners Hospital for Children, Fairfax Avenue and Virginia Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84103 or the First United Methodist Church, 1339 W 400 N., Marriott-Slaterville, UT 84404 in memory of Lorraine Iman.
