On October 5th, 2018 Lou Ann Child, our kind beautiful, sweet mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend left this world to join her husband Jerry, daughters Connie and Diane, and many others who passed before her. Lou Ann spent most of her life in Ogden Utah where she graduated from Ogden High School in 1946. She attended Weber State College until 1948. On June 2, 1948 she married Jerry W. Child in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous positions through the years including Primary President, Teacher Trainer, and Young Womens President. She took a special joy in doing temple work. As her children got older Lou Ann returned to college and received her teaching degree from Utah State and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi. She taught school for 25 years in the Ogden School District. Lou Ann was active in Alpha Delta Kappa, Gamma Chapter for over 40 years. She was also active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers where she held the office of President as well as other offices. She loved traveling with her family, golfing and playing cards. She was the best mother, sister and friend that anyone could have and left her mark on all she touched. We will miss her tremendously. She is survived by her daughters Sherrie Branz (Bob Tassone) and Kathleen "Kathi" Child (Patty Campbell); one grandson Michael; two great grandsons Drew and Zack; one great granddaughter Kala; one great great granddaughter McKinley; three brothers and their wives: Tin and Jill Toller, Dan and Sue Toller, and Dave and Ruth Toller. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 6 8 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836-36th St., Ogden, UT. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 1:45 prior to the Services. Interment Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
