Obituary

Lynn G. Corbridge (Corb), 83, of Mantua, Utah, and a longtime resident of Hooper, Utah, passed away on November 13, 2024 from natural causes.

Lynn was born on September 22, 1941, to William and Nelda Corbridge of Layton, Utah. Growing up on the farm he grew to love the value of a hard day's work. From dawn to dusk, he worked nonstop until the job was complete. He graduated from Davis High School. Following high school, Corb attended Weber State University on an athletic scholarship, excelling in football, basketball, and track. His impressive achievements in these sports earned him a spot in the Weber State Athletic Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 1995. After graduating from Weber State, Lynn pursued further education at the University of Montana, where he earned a master's degree in physical education and served as a graduate assistant coach for the football team.

Corb spent his career at Weber State University, where he dedicated 49 years to educating and mentoring future coaches and physical education teachers. He served in various coaching roles, including assistant football coach, head coach for swim, tennis, and racquetball teams, as well as serving as the rodeo team advisor.

Following his retirement, Lynn moved to Mantua, where he enjoyed spending time in the mountains of northern Utah. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending his days riding his bike, driving his side-by-side, and enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

In 1961, Lynn met Pamela Gordon of Farr West, Utah. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 6, 1963. Together over their 60 years of marriage, they raised a family filled with love and adventure. They are the proud parents of six children: Janice Wall (Scott), Susan Noall (Brad), Karin Rasmussen, Robert Corbridge (Cristy), Connie DeMott, and Rick Corbridge (Adella). Their family grew to include 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Lynn enjoyed spending his life with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He could be found outside playing a variety of sports, rolling on the floor with the grandkids and teasing everyone around. Corb is well known for his abilities on the racquetball court. Almost daily he could be found on the court, teaching and playing anyone that would join him. In recognition of his contributions to racquetball, he was inducted into the Utah Racquetball Hall of Fame in April 2014. Lynn was also an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life serving in many capacities, including teacher, high councilman and temple ordnance worker.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nelda Corbridge; his sisters Gale Corbridge and Betty Housley; brother, Lee Corbridge; and great grandson, Finn Chadwick. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Corbridge, and their six children.
