Lynne Preece

Lynne Preece passed from this earth on May 10, 2021. She was a graduate of Ogden High School in ’54.

Lynne was from Clinton, Utah, and Las Vegas, Nevada. She loved traveling between the two cities.

She is survived by three children; Carrie, Elizabeth, Ronald, two sisters; Mary and Gay, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son Donald Jr. and her parents Earl and Lucy.

Her working career started in high school for her father in his optometric office in many capacities. She was a receptionist, bookkeeper, lens cutter, contact fitting instructor and window decorator. After college she began working at Hill Air Force Base as a secretary. Other positions she held include accounting clerk, statistician, and overseeing the F4 airplane repair and maintenance programs.

Later she became a farmer's wife and learned all aspects of farming and using the large machinery while also working with the US Forest Service. Finally, she returned to her old job at Hill Field.

Lynne loved to use her creative talents to decorate for holidays and parties, making fun creative gifts for all, sew for her children, and make things for her home. Playing the piano and the organ were always a part of her life. She loved to make music come to life.

Many summers were spent on the family “Mini Farm” in Huntsville. Camping, fishing, snow and water skiing, are many fond memories held by the family.
