Mac Elwood Peterson died Monday, June 13, 2011 at the age of 72 in Ames, Iowa from complications of diabetes. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and son who will be missed by all who knew him. Mac was born June 9, 1939 in Preston, Idaho, and was a graduate of Ogden High School. He married Janice Borgogno in 1959. Mac served two years in the U.S. Army. In 1968 the family moved to Ames, IA and he opened his first Taco Time restaurant. He owned Taco Times and Sounds Easy Video Stores, serving on their Franchise Advisory Councils and as President of the Taco Time Council. He enjoyed photography, tennis and spending time with his fabulous children. He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mac is survived by his wife Janice, his children Lisa (Mark Petersen), Gina (Jeff Baldauf), Jed (Wendi MacVey), Cara, Jenny (Ben Vance), his thirteen beloved grandchildren, and his brother Rex (Una Mae Kilfoyle.) He was predeceased by his brother Elwood (Grace Marti) and his parents Otto and Edna Beckstead Peterson.Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Washington Heights Memorial Cemetery, 4500 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, UT. ; Elder Richard Singleton officiating.
