After graduating from Ann Chestnut High School, Manzie dedicated over 25 years of service to his country as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, retiring on July 31, 1981. His unwavering commitment to excellence and leadership was recognized by many, earning him the respect and admiration of his peers. Following his military career, Manzie continued to impact his community as a Mobile Counselor for the Clearfield Job Corps, where he guided and supported youths for 28 years, helping them to find their paths in life.

Manzie's life was marked by the love he had for his family. He is survived by Yvonne Dixon, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and an unbreakable bond. His legacy lives on through his son, Gary C. Dixon, his daughter-in-law, Pamela Lawson Dixon, his beloved grandson, Jeremy Dixon, and his precious great-granddaughter, Namio Dixon. Manzie also held a special place in his heart for his goddaughter, Hailee Klick and Michael Lyons, who brought him immeasurable joy, and his friend Julia Macavinta Klick.
