MarAnne Olsen Green, born on May 16, 1947, in Ogden, Utah, to LaMar and Anne Olsen, passed away on May 28, 2024, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's.

MarAnne was raised in Ogden, attending Ogden High School, and spent many cherished summers in Marlboro, New York, where her mother grew up. She faced the challenges of becoming a young mother with remarkable strength and wisdom beyond her years. MarAnne created a beautiful home in Sunset, Utah, where she married her husband of 50 years, Neal A. "Walking Encyclopedia" Green, on December 21, 1973.

Her career at the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden spanned over 35 years, during which time she earned numerous awards and contributed significantly to initiatives like electronic filing. During tax season, she was head-down doing everyone's taxes.

In 1977, the family built a home in Roy, Utah, which MarAnne transformed into her welcoming palace, often hosting family gatherings in the expansive backyard. An avid traveler, she visited every state in the U.S. and numerous countries worldwide, with a particular love for cruises and trips to Hawaii, Mexico, and other destinations through her timeshares. She enjoyed trips with Neal to historical war sites throughout the US and in Europe. She also traveled with each of her children and those memories were among her favorite ones to share with others.

MarAnne was on the sidelines of many sports games cheering on her sons and grandsons. She enjoyed watching Neal coach football, baseball and basketball games for many years. Those boys became "her boys" and they were later invited to many weddings.

In 2008, MarAnne was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. She meticulously researched and managed her treatment, introducing her doctor to a treatment that has since benefited many of his later patients. After overcoming cancer, she began a long struggle with Alzheimer's, but continued to travel until the pandemic curtailed her adventures in 2020.

MarAnne is survived by her husband, Neal; her four beloved children: Michael Aaron Green, Joelle Creager, Bryan Green, and Brandon Green; her brothers Kevin and Kelly Olsen; her grandchildren Coulter Creager, Brandi Van Orden Bowler, Breann Van Orden Coggins, Kyler Creager, Dallin Green, and Valerie Green; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her godmothers Grace "Aunt Gay" Van Etten and Anne "Aunt Anne" Amodeo; her best childhood friends Leona Bertagnolli Stacey and Robin Tucker; her grandchildren Kaden Jacob Creager and Bryce Mitchell Green; her only dog Shiloh, and numerous cats.

The funeral will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 11:00 am with a viewing held one hour prior to services at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36 St. Ogden, Utah.
