Marcia Anne Husseman, 75, passed away on April 17, 2018, in Clearfield, Utah due to small vessel dementia. Marcia was born in Portland, Oregon to Harold Hap Byram and Barbara Harris Byram on April 28, 1942. She graduated from Grant High School.
She met her future husband Richard Terry Husseman while working at Boeing in Seattle, marrying on December 26, 1962. Marcia and Terry moved to Olympia, Washington where she shared her passion for political activism while doing administrative work for the State Senate. Later she spent more than twenty years employed in the presidents office at The Evergreen State College where she absolutely loved working with staff and students many of whom remained lifelong friends.
Marcia loved hosting gatherings for family and friends, often preparing her famous lasagna and chocolate cake, and will be remembered for a life of caring and kindness. Dementia slowly stole her memories, but it never took away her lively spirit or sense of humor.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Sydney) Husseman of Layton, Utah, and Joshua Husseman of Vancouver, Washington; granddaughters, Emma Husseman and Sophie Husseman; sisters, Mary Lynn (Alan Martinson of Tualatin, Oregon, Barbara Barbie Byram of Portland, Oregon, and Jeanie (Len) Bellamy-Johnson of Everett, Washington; brother, Mark Byram of Lacey, Washington; goddaughters, Diana (Cedric) Vineyard Copeland, and Rolanda (Frank) Vineyard Baker, as well as many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry Husseman; and son, Christopher Husseman.
Marcias life will be celebrated by family and friends in a private ceremony at the Oregon Coast.
