Marco Alvarez, age 42, passed away peacefully on February 12th at home, surrounded by loved ones.

Marco was born on November 23, 1981, in Apatzingan, Michoacán, to Ramiro Alvarez and Ana Berta Garcia.

He attended Ogden High School where he met the love of his life, Rafaela Alvarez. Together, they had four beautiful children: Marco, Diego, Giselle, and Aranza. Marco also found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Ashia (Thania), Mia (Aliyah), Isabella (Angel), Felix (Aliyah), and Jonny (Angel). He is survived by his mother, Ana, and siblings: Lupe, Adriana, Cristian, Mariela, Maria, Marco, and Alejandra.

Marco dedicated his life to his family and had a passion for lowriders from his early teens. He built his first lowrider, an '81 Regal Buick, and later joined a car club where his crew became like brothers. Additionally, Marco was a successful entrepreneur, establishing a car detailing business and a Quinceañera dress store. He was also a dedicated boxing coach, especially to his sons, supporting them through numerous victories.

Marco was preceded in death by his father, Ramiro Alvarez, and stepfather, Jose Garcia.

A viewing will be held on February 23rd at the Leavitt Mortuary from 4-8 PM. A secondary viewing will take place on February 24th at the Leavitt Mortuary from 11 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by the burial at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park starting at 1:30 PM.

In Honor of Marco please wear a white shirt or sweater on Saturday the 24th.

Marco Álvarez, de 42 años, falleció pacíficamente el 12 de febrero en su hogar, rodeado de todos sus seres queridos.

Marco nació el 23 de noviembre de 1981, en Apatzingán, Michoacán, hijo de Ramiro Álvarez y Ana Berta García.

Asistió a la Escuela Secundaria Ogden High, donde conoció al amor de su vida, Rafaela Álvarez. Juntos, tuvieron cuatro hermosos hijos: Marco, Diego, Giselle y Aranza. Marco también encontró una inmensa alegría en su papel como abuelo de Ashia (Thania), Mia (Aliyah), Isabella (Ángel), Felix (Aliyah) y Jonny (Ángel). Le sobreviven su madre, Ana, y sus hermanos: Lupe, Adriana, Cristian, Mariela, María, Marco y Alejandra.

Marco dedicó su vida a su familia y tuvo una pasión por los lowriders desde su adolescencia temprana. Construyó su primer lowrider, un Buick Regal del '81, y más tarde se unió a un club de automóviles donde su equipo se convirtió en su familia. Marco fue un empresario exitoso, estableciendo un negocio de detallado de autos y una tienda de vestidos de quinceañera. También fue un entrenador de boxeo dedicado, especialmente para sus hijos, apoyándolos en numerosas victorias.

Marco fue recibido en la muerte por su padre, Ramiro Álvarez, y su padrastro, José García.

Habrá una velación el 23 de febrero en la Funeraria Leavitt de 4 a 8 PM. Y tambien Habra una segunda velación que tendrá lugar el 24 de febrero en la Funeraria Leavitt de 11 AM a 1:30 PM, seguida por el entierro en el Parque Conmemorativo Lindquist Washington Heights a partir de la 1:30 PM.

En honor a su memoria por favor de usar playera o sueter blanco el sabado 24.
