Margaret S. Lopez was born in Merino, Colorado on March 3, 1934 to Belen and Simon Saldivar. Our dear mother, wife and friend left this world on Thursday, November 8, 2012. In 1954 she married our father, Innocencio R. Lopez and together they had 8 wonderful children who dad calls his unforgettable memories. Mom dedicated 46 years of service to St. Benedicts/Ogden Regional hospital. During her employment she made friends for life. Mom received a Humanitarian Award for her love and dedication to housekeeping. She unwillingly retired in January of 2011 due to health issues. Mom was a special friend to many but most of all she was very, very special to her family. None of us will ever forget her feistiness that enabled her to raise 6 grandchildren while working full-time. Mom had a deep and abiding love for all of her loved ones. Our mother served her loved ones throughout her life. None of us will ever forget her planning and preparing for family activities, these included: Peach Days at Brigham City, Catholic Day at Lagoon, Shopping, Parades and going to Nebraska. Mom always had a meal for anyone and everyone and was able to prepare it within minutes. Mom was a fantastic cook and very giving. She is survived by her husband and 5 children: Connie Chavez (Fred), Virginia Migliore-Padgett (Bob), Elaine Busk (Mark), Julianna Bustos-Rocha-Lopez, Paul James Lopez (Lainie); 13 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her 4 sisters and one brother: Geneieve Perez, 89, Lina Aragon, 83, Celia Sanchez, 80, Carrie Vigil, 74 and Steve Saldivar, 70. She was preceded in death by 3 sons, Carl, Anthony and John Mary Lopez and 1 great grandson, Devin Scott Lopez, and 2 sisters, Marcelina Seja and Rosie Hernandez. Holy Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd, with Father Eric officiating. Graveside services will follow at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street. Family and friends are welcome to join us in a celebration of moms life at a gathering immediately following the graveside services at St. James Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Megan Grunander, Dr. Robert Ziegler, Judy, all of the Medical staff, her housekeeping friends, Mike Leavitt and the staff at Leavitts Mortuary, who cared for her and went above and beyond the call of duty.
