Obituary

At 6:14 a.m. on October 16, 2024, Marge Wilkinson Hammer at the age of 93, returned to her heavenly home.

Born to John and Alice Wood Wilkinson, Marge was the youngest of ten children, with five brothers and four sisters. She frequently shared stories of her childhood on the family farm in Mountain Green, affectionately known as "Rosehill Cottage." Marge found joy in both demanding work and the simple pleasures of farm life, often recounting mischievous moments milking cows, counting sheep and riding her pony, Rony.

As a teenager, Marge moved with her family to Price, Utah, where she graduated from Carbon High School and continued her education at Carbon College. In 1950, she relocated with her family to Ogden, where Marge met and married the late Keith D. Rackham. Though their marriage ended, they had three children: Lana Hatley, Scott Rackham, and Mitzi Babich.

Marge is survived by her three children, four grandchildren – one of whom she holds dear in memory - seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Marge dedicated 33 years of her life to the Defense Depot Ogden where she worked as a communications administrator for the Department of Defense, and occasionally assumed the role of displaying newly designed products. Her colleagues, friends and family admired her for her exceptional dedication and extraordinary work ethic, often working long hours going the extra mile to support department goals.

In retirement, Marge embraced life fully. She loved to travel, camp and fish, and she often gathered with family and friends for spirited games of Crazy Eights. Dancing was her lifelong passion, a vibrant expression of her creativity and talents that enriched her life with happiness and delight.

Marge had a unique ability to perceive the comical and absurd in human life, begetting laughter to those around her. Often, her humor and quick wit would catch friends and newcomers off guard, leaving them in stitches. Marge leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and perseverance.

Marge is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Beloved by all who knew her. Mom will be forever missed and never forgotten. Until we meet again, Mom…
