Marie Olivama Lujan passed away peacefully on March 15, 2016 surrounded by family in Layton, Utah.She was born on October 15, 1930 in Lyden, New Mexico, daughter of Jose Valdez and Olivama Martinez.On December 27, 1952Mariemarried Jose Damian Lujan in San Juan, New Mexico. Marieloved reading, embroidery, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie retired from the Ogden School District after working many years in the bi-lingual program. She will be missed by her daughters Shirley (Don) Berube , Layton, UT; Niomi (Wayne) Somerville, Layton, UT; sons, Orlee (Nanette) Lujan, Farmington, UT; Michael Lujan, Lone Tree, CO; and grandchildren Brock, Kellie, Brandon, Josh, Noel, Tony, Nick, Devin, Mitch, Alexandria, and Ryan, as well as a multitude of friends. Also surviving are her sisters, Susie (Eppie) Salazar, Angie (Zeke) Corlis, and Betty Valdez, brothers Herman (Loretta) Valdez, Eluid (Irene) Valdez, Joe (Candy) Valdez, Horace (Dora) Valdez and countless nieces and nephews. PrecedingMariein death were her husband, two sisters, and one brother. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Symbii Hospice and to the aides in the Cottage at Fairfield Village.
