Marietta Craven Folkman, Mother, Gram Ya, G-G Mo, bingo nazi and Queen of all that she saw, was born in Susanville, CA., on October 10, 1925. Surrounded by family and friends at her home away from home she passed away on July 19, 2011, just 3 months short of her 86th birthday. While she was growing up, Marietta lived in several places while her father worked for the railroad. After arriving in Ogden, she worked for HAFB as well as living on Oahu for many years where she worked at Hickham Air Force Base. While in Hawaii she was a military police woman and also worked on the Enola Gay. She retired from government service after 38 years. Marietta, along with her brothers, Robert and Jerry are listed on the World War II Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.Marietta was very proud of her Dutch heritage and loved to tell people that You aint much if you aint Dutch. She loved watching basketball, and was especially fond of her Utah Jazz. She was a member of the LDS faith. Marietta is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Patrick) ORourke; grandchildren, Kelly, Kate (Ryan) and Sean; her beloved great-grandsons, Brady and Dylan; her only remaining sibling, Norma Jeanne Wood and her extended family at Manor Care. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry A. Craven and Adriaantje (Adriana) Kranendonk; brothers, Robert and Jerry; sisters, Agnes and Janie and her niece Chrystine. Marietta was a force to be reckoned with who will always be loved and missed. Until we meet again . . .A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011; 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
