Marilee Sackolwitz passed away peacefully on March 27, 2023, at her home. She was born on October 12, 1949, in Logan Utah, the daughter of Dean Barnes and Carma Rae Stauffer Bradshaw. Marilee was the oldest of 5 children. She grew up in Garland and Tremonton, Utah where she spent a lot of her time working on their family farm. She graduated from Bear River High School and Weber State University where she earned her degree in Psychology. She worked at Empire State Bank and at Weber State in the science department. At age 40, Marilee returned to Weber State and obtained her Registered Nursing degree.
Marilee married David Sackolwitz on February 23, 1971, and together they were blessed with four children. Marilee raised her family in Clinton Utah and later settled in her favorite place, South Weber Utah. Marilee spent her career as a registered nurse in home health care. She worked for Applegate Home Health and then retired from CNS Home care. Her true passion in life was caring for her patients.
Marilee was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings in her ward and developed many close relationships with several of the members and neighbors. Some of her favorite hobbies were reading, attending the Ogden Athletic Club, being in nature, and spending time with her precious dog, Sammy. She also loved to attend the Temple, travel and spend time with her grandchildren.
Marilee is survived by her husband, David, and her four children and spouses, Melissa (Davin) DeSantis, Jeffrey (Megan) Sackolwitz, Paul (Amber) Sackolwitz and Jennifer (Mike) Burns. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, Brooklyn, Gabriella, Nicholas, Brylie, Addison, Blakeley, Zailee, Kai, Bentley, August and Emery. Marilee is survived by one sister, and three brothers, Nancy (Kent) Webb, Paul (Anjee) Bradshaw, Barry (Lisa) Bradshaw and Jed (Andrea) Bradshaw and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Stinnet and his staff at Utah Cancer Institute and CNS hospice for the loving care they gave to Marilee. They would also like to express their love and appreciation for all the many neighbors and friends that have blessed and enriched Marilee during her illness and throughout her life.
Friends and family may gather to pay their respects on Friday March 31st, 2023, from 11:00am until Noon at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36thStreet in Ogden, Utah. A short service will follow.
Interment will be held at the Uintah cemetery, 1500 East 6450 South, Uintah, Utah.
