Obituary

Marlin Ray Gill, Sr. passed away peacefully on June 8, 2013. He was born February 13, 1949 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, son of Ray Allred Gill and Alice Helen Marx. He moved to Ogden with his family in 1950 and attended the local schools. He entered the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. Marlin worked Leavitts Mortuary in grounds maintenance before becoming a police officer at DDO until it closed in 1997. He then transferred to Hill AFB where he worked as an equipment custodian until he retired in 2012. Marlin enjoyed the company of his Japanese Chen dogs, adding to his various collections, and spending time with family and friends. Marlin is survived by his daughter, Jaime Gill, his sons, Marlin (Bud) Gill, Jr. (Chelsea), Mark Gill, and five grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Dennis Gill, and three sisters, Pat Bessegger, Mary Younger, and Peggy Loveland. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bruce Gill and Steven Gill. Graveside services will be held at Leavitts Aultorest Cemetery, 836 36th street, 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14th. Funeral Directors: Leavitts Mortuary.
