Martha L. Ashford Allen transitioned from Earth to Heaven on November 19, 2012. Born to Walter Ashford and Mary Chavis in St. John County Florida, and raised by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Peter Chavis. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Isaiah (Ike) and James, two sisters Dora and Mary. She attended public school and graduated from Weber State College. Martha taught school for Ogden City Schools until she retired. She is survived by her husband, Bobby R. Allen, Bishop of the Utah Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ; sons, David (Eloise) Snell, Bobby Jr. (Brenda) Allen, Dwayne (Jackie) Snell; daughters, Romona (Earnest) Crockan, Linder (James) Hunn, Melanie Hicks, Brenda McClellon, 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a supportive church family as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the Griffin Memorial Church, 2424 E Ave, Ogden, UT. Funeral Services will follow at the same location on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow services at Leavitts Crystal Gardens Mausoleum, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT.
