Marvin Lee Steed passed away December 28, 2015 at the age of 88. He passed peacefully at his home of natural causes.
He was born December 7, 1927 to Raphael Lee and Maybelle Moore Steed in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School and Weber State College.
He was married to Shirley Mae Hill in 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Marvin was a gifted vocalist singing in high school musicals, funerals, and he even sang a solo for an LDS Bishops meeting in General Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He enlisted in 1945 in the United States Army. After completion of his service he began his banking career at First Security Bank, North Park Bank in Logan then started Old West Mortgage Company in 1977 where his sons continue on in that business.
He held various positions in the LDS church. Marvin loved skiing, hunting, and fishing with his family; also airplanes and buying classic old cars.
Marvin is survived by his wife Shirley Mae; four children, Sharma VanDyke Stotts (Jim), Sherrie Craig (Gil), David Steed (Linda), Richard Steed (Janice); 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry; sister, Darlene and one great grandson, Tyler.
Per his wishes there will be no viewing or funeral services. A graveside dedicatory prayer will be Saturday, January 2, 2016 at12:00 noon at Mountain View Cemetery in Eden, Utah.
