Obituary

Mary Louise Barba passed away March 31st, 2022, at the age of 95. She was born on August 19th, 1926, to Celia and Joseph Ruiz in Ruth, Nevada. She was one of ten children to Celia. She was the last surviving member among her siblings. She graduated from beauty school in 1951. After graduating from beauty school, she opened up her own beauty salon called Beauty Mirror, which she later continued to run at her home. She loved playing her guitar and singing with her family. She enjoyed crocheting many things and enjoyed giving her family what she made. She enjoyed cooking, listening to her music very loud, and singing along with it. She absolutely loved going to Wendover with whoever took her. Mary Louise enjoyed making memories with her siblings, they would do many things together. When her children were in elementary school she was involved in the PTA. She also was a baseball coach to her children and some of the neighborhood kids. Whether the kids won or lost she took them for ice cream after the game. She would volunteer with her good friend Marie Greene and others at rest homes playing guitar and singing. She was always active her whole life. She enjoyed hosting parties for her grandkids at her home. She enjoyed working as a health aid for many years in Utah and California, and took pride in her work. She helped raise many of her grandchildren. Mary Louise married William H. Barba; they later divorced. Mary Louise was Survived by her children: Joey Martinez, Marian Torres, Angelina (Ruben) Vaca, Linda (Skip) Terkelson, William (Tammy) Barba, and Franklin Barba. Mary Lousia was a mother, an Aunt, a Grandma, a Great Grandma and Great-Great Grandma to many. Mary Louise was preceded in death by: her parents, her siblings Mary Carrillo, Juana Navarro, Rose Carrillo, Raymond Ruiz, James Ruiz Sr., Roger Ruiz, Jeannie Valdez Varela, Charles Rivera, David Rivera, and along with many other family members.
