Mary Jo (Sheen) Allen, age 64, passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 8, 2022 after complications of surgery.

Mary Jo was born in Salem, Utah on July 27, 1958 to Lily Jones Sheen and Calvin Sheen.  Growing up in Salem she was best friends with her siblings and many cousins.  She attended Salem elementary, Spanish Fork High school and went on to study early childhood education at Utah Valley Community College.  After graduation, she found great joy in her job at Head Start until meeting the love of her life, Michael Duncan Allen in 1986.

Mary Jo and Mike were married August 14, 1987 in Salem, Utah and went on to have five children:  John Michael, Sara Jo, Rebecca Merri, Nellie Elizabeth, and Joycelyn Eve.  Mike was her best friend, and they had a love like no other, enjoying 35 years of marriage.  She was madly in love with him from beginning to end and is anxiously awaiting seeing him again on the other side.  She told her kids often that marrying her best friend was the best thing she ever did.

Mary Jo loved teaching children, she home schooled all of her children and tutored so many kids throughout the years.  She loved her job as a volunteer Coordinator with Americorps and loved the opportunity to help kids excel in reding.  She was a very talented artist, and loved sharing that gift with others.  She loved gardening and being outside, in the summer she loved sitting on her porch and watching her hummingbird feeder.

She was loved by so many people and was everybody’s best friend.  She had so many challenges in her life and approached all of them with a grateful heart and a positive attitude.
