Matilda Lucas

Matilda Irene Shepherd Lucas, 95, passed away at home on February 7, 2021, from natural causes. She was born on July 9, 1925, in Mulberry, Kansas to Thomas Oren and Iva Mae Shepherd. Irene married Clarence Ira Lucas on February 21, 1942, in Clearfield, Utah. They celebrated 55 years together before her husband’s passing in 1997. Irene is survived by three daughters and three sons: Rosalee Stevens, Tom Lucas, Ronnie (Janice) Lucas, Jimmie (Paula) Lucas, Janet Lucas, and Sandy Lucas, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Emily Jane Brown, an infant son David, daughter-in-law Sara Lucas, son-in-law Merrill Stevens, one great-grandson, and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 36th St. Ogden, Utah 84403, Friday, February 12, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. with a viewing an hour prior and Thursday, February 11, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
