Maurine (Clark) Combe, 94, of Phoenix, Arizona, died Thursday, January 27, 2011, in Chandler, Arizona. She was born December 7, 1916, in Clearfield, Utah and was the fourth of six children born to Horace Wells and Janette (Benzon) Clark. Maurine graduated from Ogden High School in 1934 and pursued a secretarial degree from Woodbury Business College in Los Angeles, California.On April 6, 1940, Maurine married Grant H. Combe in Coalville, Utah. They had three children. In 1962 after living in Ogden, Roy and Salt Lake City, Utah, Maurine and Grant relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where she worked as the administrative assistant to the head of the audit division of the IRS until 1975. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading and most importantly taking care of and enjoying her family.Maurine is survived by her brothers Wells (Gloria) Clark of Glendale, California; Lyman (Jo) Clark of Poway, California; her children Roger (Joan) Combe of Escondido, California; Janice (Chuck) Horne of Mesquite, Nevada; Bruce (Karen) Combe of Mesa, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant as well as her parents, her brother, Allen Clark and her sisters, Bernice Halverson and Ruth Dudman.Services will be held at 2:00 Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
