Covey
October 31, 1941 – July 28, 2024
Max Allen Covey, 82, was surrounded by his family when he passed away July 28th, 2024. after a short battle with cancer. Max was born on October 31st, 1941, to parents William Norman Covey and Ruth Clara Banner.
Max graduated from Ogden High School, after which he married his High School sweetheart Laura Campbell later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple. Together, they raised 5 children in the Hooper area and later divorced. He served an electrical apprenticeship and later became a Master Electrician where he worked constructing various Power Plants and large commercial buildings across the United States. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 63 years.
In 1984 he married Elaine Holden Tallman. Together They enjoyed the snowbird life in Yuma during the Winter and traveling throughout the rest of the year. From a very young age Max had a passion for Trains which lead to many train adventures across the country. His other hobbies include Fishing, off roading in Moab, Camping, Hunting, Barbequing and Dutch Oven cooking.
Max is survived by his children Darla (Mark) Richards, Paula (Deven) Grist, Max (Katie) Covey, his brother Earl (Wilma) Covey, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents, special aunt Myra Snell, wife Elaine Covey, daughters Kellie Auble and Trudy Lewis, granddaughter Laurie Jacobsen and nephew Robert Covey.
A viewing will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, from 9:00 am to 9:45 am, and Funeral Service at 10:00 am at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street Ogden Utah. Followed by graveside service at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
