Melba Jean Goss Reeves passed away September 1, 2016. She was born September 2, 1933 to Archibald James Goss and Mary Alberta Pulsipher in Brigham City, Utah. Melba graduated from Box Elder High School. She married John William Reeves on June 4, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple in Logan, Utah. Melba and John raised their five children in Ogden, Utah. John retired from Hill AFB. Melba retired after 20 years working as a school lunch lady at Mount Ogden Middle School. In Melbas younger years she enjoyed square dancing with her sweetheart and bowling with her friends. Later she found joy in the Lords service, serving with her husband at the Ogden LDS Temple. After her husband had passed, her later years were spent enjoying many friendships at both The Gardens and Apple Village Assisted Living Centers. Melba leaves a legacy of the friendships and relationships she spent a lifetime building. She sacrificed unconditionally for her family and friends to make sure their needs were met. Melba loved spoiling her grandkids, especially on holidays. Family was her greatest joy. She will be greatly missed. Melba is survived by her children, Debra Jean Reeves, William John Reeves, James Lee (Cori) Reeves, Robert (Susan) Alexander, Becky Ann (Michael) Hildebrand and Steven Lynn Reeves; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John William Reeves; granddaughter, Makenna Reeves; her parents and many other family members. The family would like to express a special thank you to the loving care provided by Inspiration Hospice, especially Donette and Jodi. They would also like to thank the staff at The Gardens and Apple Village. Graveside Services were held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Brigham City Cemetery, Brigham City, Utah.
