Merlin Smith James went to be with his parents and younger brother on June 4, 2023. His body gave out but his mind was still intact. On April 27, 1942, Merlin was born in Ogden, Utah to Joseph Henry James and Verda Scharlotte Smith. Merlin James married Carolyn Ervin on June 18, 1966, later divorced; married Mary Wilson, 1969, later divorced, Janette Holder August 31, 1975, later divorced, and married Connie Mitchell March 17, 1987. Merlin is survived by four daughters: Michelle (Bill) Kirstine, Shawna (David) Turner, Cristal (Nichola) Griego and RoxAnne (Adam) Hall. Also, he has 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Merlin is also survived by one sister, Darla Young of Heyburn, Idaho. He is preceded in death by his parents, a half-sister, Aleine, and brother Dennis. A Graveside Service will be held at Aultorest Memorial Park in Ogden, UT on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 1:00PM.
