Michael Kent Hall, 79 of Ogden, UT passed away on Tuesday April 7th, 2026 after a prolonged fight with kidney disorder. Mike was born on June 25th, 1946, to Helen Saterlee and Kenneth Hall in Ogden, Utah. Mike went to Ogden High School and in July of 1963 joined the navy where he attended Field Medical Service school from June 1964 to April 1965 and then went on to serve a combat tour in Vietnam in 1965 and 1966 with 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines as a Navy Corpsman. He was honorably discharged January of 1967.

He then went on to work for local sporting goods stores. In 1980 he went to work for Hill AFB while also working for several fishing manufacturers. In November 1976 Mike married Frances Eileene Lancaster in Heber City. Mike and Fran went on to have 2 children. In 2005 Mike Retired and pursued his passion of Fishing, Hunting and Farming.

Mike was especially passionate about freshwater sportfishing, both recreationally and working with state fisheries experts in the tri-state region of Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. Mike was gifted as an educator and speaker. This dedicated and humble man set multiple freshwater record as a pro staff member of the Luhr Jensen, Berekely Pure Fishing, Scotty Down Riggers and Mack’s Lure Company. Most of all, Mike was generous with his time and passionate about teaching young and old alike how to fish and enjoy their state’s natural resources.

Mike was predeceased by his twin sister Maureen Brennen, older sister Deann Ferrin, his Stepfather Thomas “BUD” Myers and Mother Helen Myers. He is survived by his wife, Fran, two sons, Thomas and Tyler, 1 daughter Michelle, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

We have lost a father, husband, brother and dear friend who will be forever missed. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. located at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to the service.
