He is also survived by his sisters: Bonnie Manning and Judy (Bob) Turgeon; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his son, Brody, his parents, his brothers and best friends: Ken, Jim, and John.
Mick was a hardworking man, and he worked hard so he could spend time with his family. We grew up camping and fishing with extended family and many friends of the family. Almost every weekend of every summer, you could find us in the Uintahs, at Big Creek, or in the river bottoms of Liberty. As grandkids came, they instantly had him wrapped around their little fingers, and his self-appointed role was to be the biggest tease ever! In recent years, the great-grandkids arrived and they quickly developed precious and tender relationships with him.
Papa we have a big hole in our hearts, but you taught us how to fill it. Your unconditional love and your never-ending quiet acts of service did not go unnoticed. In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Micks tradition of serving others, please take a moment this Christmas season to perform a quiet act of service in his honor.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 16th, at 2:00 pm, at Leavitts Memorial Park 836 36th Street, in Ogden Utah, near Brodys grave by the fountain at the front. An open house will be held for all those wishing to celebrate the life of Mick with his family, from 3:00-5:00 pm, at the Mt Ogden Golf Course Grille, 1787 Constitution Way, Ogden, Utah. Micks dress code of warm and comfortable is recommended for both. You may even see some of his family members sporting his daily uniform of jeans, boots, sunglasses and a hat. In keeping with his personality, we will also be carving sentiments in his casket prior to and after the services. Bring your own pocket knife, or use one of his.
The family would like to thank Hospice for Utah (especially Nicole, Rita, Debbie, Tammy), and the staff of Hidden Valley Assisted Living Memory Care (especially Cassandra) for their wonderful care and keeping of our Papa.
Arrangements under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
