Obituary

Michael Pitzak was born on December 3, 1956, in Ogden, Utah, to William Pitzak and Bonnie McCall. He grew up surrounded by the beauty of the mountains he would later come to love. Mike lived a rich and adventurous life, guided by curiosity, boldness, and a free spirit.

Mike was the proud owner of FASCO TV and spent many years working as a trusted television repairman before retiring.

Outside of work, Mike lived life with enthusiasm and joy. In the winter, he could be found on the slopes of Snowbasin, where skiing wasn't just a pastime: it was a way of life. The friends he made there became family, forming bonds built on laughter, shared memories, and mountain air.

In the summer, Mike loved mountain biking, golfing, and being outdoors. Throughout his life, he embraced thrills and exploration: boating, sailing, hang gliding, and soaring through the sky in his glider. He had a fearless love for life and a smile and laugh that made it easy to join him on the adventure. When he wasn't outdoors, he was tinkering and building things in his garage.

He was immensely proud of his daughter and grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.

Mike passed away on November 15, surrounded by love after fighting cancer with the same strength, grit, and optimism he brought to everything he did. He was a warrior until the very end.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lyman (Craig); his grandchildren, Gage Salerno (Laura Birkhold), Victoria McGann (Alex), and Nicolas Lyman; and his great-grandchildren, Declan and Rowan McGann. He is also survived by his siblings, Val Pitzak, Terry Finch, Susan Pitzak Call, and Pam Pitzak as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his father.

Mike lived a full and meaningful life, surrounded by countless friends, unforgettable memories, and experiences that shaped him and everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his quick wit, kindness, happiness, optimism, and adventurous spirit.

Special thanks to Holly and Tom Campbell, Steve Chambers, Tony Kaye, and Grant Moore for their special support, love, and care.
