In loving memory of Michele L. Bowman

Michele Lyon Bowman passed away on October 25, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, at the age of 80.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Richard Bowman; her children, Lisa (Bowman) Thelen (Thomas), Todd Bowman (Kara), Michael Bowman (Ellen), and Christopher Bowman (Danielle); nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brother, Michael Lyon (Mary Margret). Michele was preceded in death by her brother, Eric Lyon (Kim).

A Life Well Lived

Born on August 12, 1945, Michele experienced a vibrant and international upbringing as the daughter of a U.S. Army officer. Her childhood took her across the globe to places such as Japan, Italy, Hawaii, Texas, Oklahoma, and California. This early exposure to diverse cultures sparked a lifelong love of travel that she shared with her husband. Richard and Michele were married in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Together, they explored 59 countries—including Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Switzerland, and the Amazon—but always held a special fondness for Maui. Michele cherished quiet mornings on the hotel balcony there, watching the ocean and sunrises.

Michele dedicated over 28 years to teaching elementary school students in the 5th and 6th grades. Her impact as an educator was profound; it was common for former students around Mesa to greet her warmly with a hug and a cheerful "Hi Mrs. Bowman."

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
