Obituary

Miguel Antonio Favela Jr., affectionately known as Mickey to his loved ones, was a beacon of joy and laughter, whose life was a testament to his unwavering love for his family, his passion for life, and his innate ability to fix anything that came his way. Born on September 23, 1996, to the proud parents Estella and Miguel Antonio Favela Sr., Mickey grew up surrounded by the love and camaraderie of his siblings, Lizbette and MariAngel Favela. On May 25, 2024, at the young age of 27, Mickey rode his Harley into Heaven, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Mickey's smile was legendary; it had the uncanny power to charm his way through life and disarm any trouble that came his way. He was a skilled mechanic with the mind of a rocket scientist, capable of tackling any automotive challenge. His passion for vintage cars was matched only by his love for his horse, Pretty Girl, and his cherished dogs, Grizzly and Star. A true cowboy at heart, Mickey never missed an opportunity to sport his cowboy boots and revel in the simple pleasures of life, like enjoying his favorite Jack & Coke, and basking in the company of his family.

A graduate of Ben Lomond High School, Mickey's interests extended beyond his mechanical talents. He was an ardent Raiders fan, who loved nothing more than to experience the thrill of live music, especially when the bass was turned up loud. His love for family time was unparalleled, whether it was playing with his kids, sharing a drink with his fiancé, Jessica Castro, or simply catching up on some well-deserved sleep.

Mickey's life was enriched by the presence of his children, Mickey Jay Favela, who had become his inseparable little minion, and his unborn child, Miguel Antonio Favela III, whom he was eagerly awaiting. He also embraced the role of a loving father to his stepchildren, Salvador, Ezekiel, and Elena, imparting wisdom, joy, and creating an unbreakable bond through shared experiences.

His playful spirit was a source of endless fun for his family. He was the master of jokes with his sisters and the greatest uncle to his niece Sayuri, with whom he loved to dance. His mother, Estella, was often the recipient of his playful pokes and tickles, and their playful wrestling matches were a highlight of their relationship.

Mickey's capacity for love extended beyond the confines of his family. He was a friend to everyone he met, always taking the time to engage with anyone who crossed his path. His impact on those around him was profound, and his presence was a comforting and joyful one, whether he was turning on his Grandpa Chilillo's tractor or dancing the night away in El Paso, Texas.

He is preceded in passing by his grandfather Chilillo, his uncle Roberto Alvarado, and his two angels in heaven. His legacy is carried on by his beloved fiancé Jessica, his children, stepchildren, parents, siblings, niece, and a host of relatives and friends who were blessed to know him.

Mickey's life was a celebration of the things he loved most: family, laughter, and the open road. His parting leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will forever ride on in their memories. As he often exclaimed with pride, "Arriba Chihuahua! Arriba Favela!"—a fitting tribute to a life so beautifully lived. Mickey's journey on earth may have ended, but his story will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
