Minnie Wihelmina Twynstra DeGroot Willis was born in Ogden Utah on October 11, 1922 at 10:30 a.m. to Sjerp Twynstra and Gerlofke Van Der Veen She had one sister Thelma, who was born in Holland. Her mother died when she was 10 years old. Her father remarried and she has two half sisters JoAnn and Nancy, only one whom is still living. She attended Weber High school. She married Andrew Peter DeGroot on September 8, 1948. They were married for 18 years before he passed away. She has three children Diana (Bill) Fouyer, Nadine (Richard) Jensen, and Glenn (Becky) DeGroot. She married Ed Willis on April 4, 1986. She inherited three more daughters, Karen Willis, Becky (Troy) Weeks and Vickie (Doug) Friedle. Her and Ed have 21 grand children and 23 great grand children. Ed and Minnie met at a single adult meeting when they were both involved in the single adults. After their marriage Minnie and Ed served a 12-month mission to West Virginia. They entered the Mission Home on October 5th 1988. After returning home from their mission, they served in the Ogden Temple for a number of years.. Minnie and Ed lived in Riverdale, Utah, for about a year before they moved to Roy.They have both been residing at Stoney Brooke Assisted Living in Riverdale Utah.Minnie was lunchroom manager for the Ogden City Schools for a number of years. She then worked and retired from Defense Depot Ogden.Minnies hobbies were ceramics, reading, cooking and candy making, which all of the kids and grand kids looked forward to every Christmas.
