On September 9, 2017, an unexpected visit from Heavenly Angels visited Layton, Utah and carefully escorted Mona Beverly Nye Lewis to her Heavenly Father just short of her 93rd birthday. She was born September 25, 1924. Mona was the daughter of Victor John Nye and Tusnelda (Nellie) Kraft of Ogden, Utah. Mona married Robert Taylor and they were blessed with two children, Beverly and Stan. They were later divorced. Mona married Archie Smith, they had three children; Archie, Karen, and Linden. He preceded her in death. Mona Married Dudley Manning Lewis, he took on the responsibility of her five children. They were married 54 years. Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Ogden Utah Temple. He preceded her in death. Mona was the heart of her family and the matriarch to five generations. She is survived by one sister, Tessi Nye Edsinga; her five children, Beverly (Beryl) Young, Stan (Evelyn) Taylor, Archie (Christel) Smith, Karen (Scott) Call and Linden (Bob) Dare; 17 grandchildren; and 82 great and great-great-grandchildren. Mona was preceded in death by her father; mother; brothers, Victor Nye, Jason Nye, and Donald Nye; sisters, Rosannah Bowen, Shirley Spinden, and Joyce Bateman. Family and friends may attend viewing services on Sunday, September 17, 2017, from 6:00 8:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT and from 10:00 am 10:45 am prior to the funeral. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 18, 2017, at 11:00 am. Services entrusted to Leavitts Mortuary. Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
