Eden, UtahNancy Ann Whited Hay, our loving wife, mother and Nana passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 from a massive heart attack. Nancy was born September 10, 1944 in Spencer, West Virginia to Ibis and Orva (Vineyard) Whited. Nancy graduated from Spencer High School in 1962 and then graduated from Charleston Beauty Academy. She was then employed by Stone and Thomas Department Store in Charleston, West Virginia. Nancy married the love of her life, James Robert Hay, in Spencer, West Virginia on November 12, 1966. They lived in Charleston for two years before moving to St. Albans, West Virginia in 1968. Nancy and Jim had two children, Denise Hay Montgomery and James Rodney Hay. They all moved to Eden, Utah in 1986 for Jims employment with Management Training Corporation. Nancy was the most selfless person. She was always willing to help others. She never put herself first. There was not a day that went by that she wasnt asking about how someone was doing or feeling and if there was anything she could do for them.Nancy loved to take care of her beautiful flower gardens, where she spent most of her time working. She also had a love for golf, and enjoyed golfing with her husband Jim. Nancy and Jim took many road trips to go see family and friends in West Virginia, Ohio, and Texas. Some of the most special times were when she would take care of her only grandchild, Madalyn Ann Montgomery. Nana, Grandpa and Madalyn enjoyed their time together, especially going to many field trips, as well as trips downtown. Nana and Madalyn loved to cook together and take care of the flowers. Nana taught Madalyn many things. Nancy in survived by her husband, James R. Hay of Eden, daughter, Denise Hay Montgomery (Larry) of Huntsville, granddaughter, Madalyn Ann Montgomery of Huntsville, her brother, Ronald A. Whited of West Lafayette, Ohio and many brother and sister-in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ibis and Orva (Vineyard) Whited, her son, James Rodney Hay, and her sister, Carole Whited Hostetler. A family and friend gathering will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 from 6-8p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Inurnment services for family and friends will be on October 16, 2011 in Cicerone, Roane County, West Virginia at the Hay Family Cemetery. Cremation under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
