Nanette Stokes Lord

Nanette Stokes Lord "Nan" loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Passed away peacefully on April 4, 2023.

She graduated from Davis High School in 1955. Nannette married Hewitt F. Lord "Hugh" in April of 1978. He was the love of her life; they were married 37 years.

She was born on July 20, 1937, in American Fork, Utah to George Lloyd Stokes and Barbara Rae Pett Stokes.

She loved animals, especially cats, enjoyed reading, traveling, dancing, sewing, puzzles, camping and time with her children and grandchildren. She retired after 30+ years at H.A.F.B.

Nan loved her family and friends and was passionate about rescuing cats. She was known as the neighborhood "Cat Lady" for many years.

She is survived by her daughters Laura (Darrin) Taylor, Roy; Pam McKenna (Kevin) California; Julie Reiswig; Washington. Siblings Diane (Richard) Overduyn, Syracuse;

Bruce (Elisabeth) Stokes, St. George; Ruth (Ron) Thrapp, West Jordan; Pam (Bruce) Lewis; Morgan; Mary (Greg) Allen, Clearfield; 11 Grandchildren, 24 Great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Barbara Stokes, husband Hugh Lord, son Russell Spaulding, sister Sandra (Jerry) Volmar and neice Lisa Volmar.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to "Best Friends Animal Society" in Kanab UT.

Nan has requested there be no services or celebration of life.
