Nikolai Kelvin Hansen's Obituary

Nikolai Kelvin Hansen On May 1st 2014 at exactly 1:00 p.m. Niko came into this world and quickly stole the hearts of all who knew him. He was a bright, sweet perfect little spirit who touched so many lives. On May 10th Niko was taken to the ER for swelling and discoloration on his lower body, we watched helplessly as a horrible bacteria quickly spread over his tiny body. He was life-flighted to primary Childrens Hospital where the Drs., Nurses, and staff worked tirelessly to save him. After more than twelve hours we realized this fight was too much for our tiny angel and began to pray he had the strength to hold on until his Daddy could make it home from Illinois where he serves in the US Navy. Niko was strong: he endured hours of surgery, over 4 units of blood and plasma, and countless medicines and machines to give him every possible chance. He coded 4 times throughout the day but fought his way back until his parents could both be with him. His parents made the most difficult and selfless choice to let Niko pass peacefully On May 10th 2014 Nikolai Kelvin Hansen returned to heaven as his Mommy and Daddy held him gently in their arms. Niko is survived by his parents Cory L. Hansen and Mikenzee Jai Hansen (Carter) His Grandparents Jim and Mindi Hansen, Kelvin Carter and Cheri Bambrough. Niko also leaves behind many great Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. Our family would like to express our gratitude to the amazing staff at Primary Childrens PICU. A Memorial Fund has been set-up in Nikos name to help his young parents with his final expenses. Donations can be made at any America First Credit Union to the Nikolai Kelvin Hansen Memorial Fund. If you are unable to donate we ask that you consider donating blood or plasma in Nikos name. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate our little angel on Saturday May 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to Services.
