IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norma Christine
Drysdale
June 26, 1950 – January 4, 2025
At 2000 hours, 4 January 2025, Petty Officer Christine Drysdale sailed away from this earth with her two sons holding her hands. It was a peaceful and quiet night, and her way. Norma Christine Drysdale, 74, was born on June 26 1950; 2:44 a.m., at Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah to Robert Joseph Drysdale and Carmen Fae Smith. She was the oldest of 5 siblings and lived in Ogden, Utah where she spent her entire childhood and most her adult life.
Norma Christine Drysdale, whom you would never want to get caught calling Norma or you would never hear the end of it graduated from Ogden High School in 1970. From there she focused on family and had two children, Robert Jason Strong and Shane Nealy Strong.
Chris took on many positions to raise her children and explore the world, as well as help others. She spent some time in her earlier years dispatching with the Brigham City Police Department. She was a 21 Year Navy Veteran, spending time in several places including Spain, Japan and San Francisco. The Navy was a huge part of her life and she was proud of every moment she served, including "Desert Shield" and "Desert Storm". She was always ready to protect and serve. She fought fires for the United States Forest Service where she was once chased down by a Badger while fighting fires. She also had the privilege of playing Smokey the Bear on several occasions, bringing pleasure and fire safety training to children and families across the state. This was just the beginning of her urge to help and serve others, which she did in several ways right up to the end.
Besides helping others, Chris was a huge NFL fan and loved weekends watching her beloved Green Bay Packers! She was an official cheese head and loved Aaron Rodgers up until recently. She wasn't one to be bugged during the football game and would let you know. She loved her family and the pictures that were sent her way. She surrounded herself with love and positive thoughts! Her time with her sister Vicki, right up until the end, meant the world to her and their friendship was part of her urge to keep going.
Chris is survived by her sons, Robert (Heather) Strong, Shane Strong, her grandchildren Jacob, Jordan, Hope and Justice Strong, her bonus grandchildren Kylie and Logan Abrams.
She is also survived by her siblings, William (Becky) Drysdale, Vicki (Rick) Salas, Tina Taylor, Rhonda (Ray) Sena; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janet Benton.
There will be no formal services, there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Ogden Regional Hospital, especially nurse "Jazzy" from the Intermediate Care Dept, and Canyon Hospice for the care of our mother and compassion for our family. And I cannot go without saying a huge "Thank You!" to the many Angels and friends at Golden Links Manor where she resided.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you donate to a local Veteran's organization in her name.
Thank you, momma Chris, for accepting everyone as your own and loving all with your whole heart! We all love you and will miss you dearly!!
