Norma Jean Griffin-Weaklend's Obituary

Norma Jean Griffin-Weaklend, 51, passed away late Friday, March 10, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. She was born August 5, 1965 in East Saint Louis, Illinois to James M Griffin and Pandora Griffin. Norma will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Norma was reunited with her sweetheart Todd Weaklend in 2010 whom she later remarried in 2013. Norma was able to see a large portion of the country with Todd while he was driving semis. During that time many of us were able to see the country with them because she was dedicated to always sharing her travels with her friends and family. This was a very special time for Norma where she was able to create many quality memories that she frequently re-lived in the stories she would share with others. Norma always had a smile that could light up a room for anyone she met and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is now smiling down on all of us from above. While we will miss seeing Normas "Good Morning Lord" she is now telling him Good Morning in person. Norma loved spending time with her friends and family. Norma is survived by her husband and soul mate Todd Weaklend, Ogden, UT; her mother-in-law Cathy Marquis Weaklend, Falls City, NE; her sister Geneva (Jim) Blevins; her three brothers Herbie (Ella) Griffin, Port Saint Lucie, FL; Charles (Cindy) Griffin, Belfountain, MO; Harold Griffin, Belleville, IL; her five children Christopher (Shanel) Black, Ogden, UT; Natasha Griffin, San Antonio, TX; Tiffany Weaklend, Brigham City, UT; April Fierke, Fairview Heights, IL; Randall (Dystini) Weaklend, Layton, UT; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Wayne Griffin. Special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at St. Marks Hospital for the quality love and care they provided to our sweet Norma during her last week. As a family we would like to express our additional thanks to Bryan Jensen who went above and beyond all expectations to take amazing care of our beloved Norma.
