Obituary

Norman Louis Fowles, 84, of South Weber, Utah was reunited with his wife Carol Fowles and daughter, Sandra Dunn and grandchildren Jeremy and Anna Borgstrom on August 21, 2011. Norman was born on February 25, 1927 in West Weber, Utah son of George and Lula Fowles. He grew up on Wilson Lane and attended various schools both in California and Utah. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and creating mischief at a young age. Norman joined the Navy at 15 and served in Japan. He was based out of San Diego, California, and completed his service in June 1946. He then came back to Utah and started his own Mechanics garage soon after; he met Carol Mary Elmer whom he married on Valentines Day in 1949. Carol gave birth to their first two daughters, Sandra and LouAnn, in the Ogden area. In 1953 he sold his business and moved to South Weber. Then in 1966 they were happily surprised with their third and youngest daughter Lisa. Norman worked at Hill Air Force Base for 37 years, retiring as a GS-13. Norman was then able to enjoy time with his grandchildren, going on lots of camping and hunting trips. He loved taking his family to his cabin and watching the deer. He was very lucky to have his family close by. Norman always had knowledge to give to family and friends from vitamins and gardening to how to fix your vehicles and equipment. He was a very friendly and helpful man. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family and telling everyone to "give me another kiss."Norman was preceded in death by his parents George and Lula, step father Velt Cornielson, siblings Dean Fowles, Connie Dayley, and Fern Martin, wife Carol, daughter Sandra Dunn, grandchildren Jeremy and Anna Borgstrom, an infant niece, a great niece, and a great nephew.
