Our precious Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt and Cousin departed from us on March 11, 2014 due to complications surrounding multiple illnesses. Patricia Lee (Cahoon) Ford was born October 1, 1941 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Harry Ralph and Allene (Lawrence) Cahoon. She was the second of six children. She was a proud graduate of South High School.
She had many pets throughout her life. She often told stories of her Rusty (dog), George (coati mundi), and Cindy (horse) who were probably amongst her favorite.
Pat met and married the love of her life Lawrence Mack Ford on November 28, 1960. Pat and Mack had five beautiful girls who she adored.
Mom worked for Defense Mapping Agency as a Freight Rate Specialist for over 31 years. She enjoyed her many friends there and the friendships they would keep for a lifetime.
Mom and Dad enjoyed their retirement years making sure to watch The Young and The Restless every morning and going to movies.
She took many trips with friends and family across the country from San Diego to Missouri, Kentucky, San Francisco, Las Vegas and many more. She enjoyed her weekend runs to St. George as that was her second home. She also loved reading, doing puzzles, trivia, ghost stories and crimes shows. There was often not a time when you would come into her home and she was not completing a puzzle. Mom was coming into the 21st century with social media and technology.
Our mother touched each and every person differently and the words she would use to express to each and every one was meant for that one person to always remember, as it was sincere and it was from her heart. This is who she was in how she expressed herself. She made all her nieces and nephews feel as if they were her own children or grandchildren and made her grandchildren feel as if they were the only one that mattered and that they were her favorite.
Mom had a strong bond with her siblings as they would always laugh and have a great time whenever they were together. She loved her family more than any of us will ever know. Pat was a big supporter of many, many family functions and loved every invite she received to celebrate the successes of family members.
She is survived by her sweetheart of 53 years, Mack: Debra (Fil) Martinez, Susan (Bryan) Bithell, Cindy Salisbury, and Patti (Teddy) Daniels. The prosperity she leaves behind siblings: Janis, Hank (Carol), Robert (Barbara), Linda(Brent) and brother-in-law: Leonard; Grandchildren: Jeni, Jeremy, Sadie, Joshua, Samantha, Chante, James, Brandon and Jessika; Great-Grandchildren: Alexis, Jacob, Ty, Cami, Averi, Casten, Autumn, Hazen, Joel, Adrianna, Shaylee, Roman and Korbin; along with many nieces and nephews. Mom is preceded in death by her parents, a baby daughter, sister Ann Cahoon Norman and sister-in-laws Joan Allen and Kathy Helmick.
We would like to thank each and every care giver throughout her journey and Legacy Village Rehabilitation for taking care of her ever so gently.
As always, Mom is getting in the last word by having a graveside only service against our wishes, yet another battle she won against her girls.
We love you Mom and will miss you terribly.
