Patricia Joan White
December 19, 1934 – October 13, 2026
Patricia J. White, a spirited and cherished soul, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at Abbington Memory Care in Layton, Utah on October 13, 2026. Born on December 19, 1934, in New York, Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late Theall and Dolores (Kelsy) Vredenburg. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Patricia preceded by her husbands, Harry Lazenby and Raymond White, with both of whom she shared cherished years with. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Eugene, James, Lynn, Dolly, and David; her adopted daughter, Lois Carney Pippen; her stepdaughter, Karen (Bob) Stevenson; her stepson, Gerry White; and her beloved pets, Buffy, Beauty, Buttons, Bridget, and Babbett.
Survived by those who will carry forward her legacy, Patricia leaves behind her four handpicked grandchildren whom she adored: Robin (Steve) Hough, Roberta Carney, Robert (Joel) Carney, and Rodney (Tera) Carney, as well as Stacey (Dave) Whitmire, Shelly (Brett) Kemp and Steve (Melanie) White. She is also survived by her two stepsons, Kim (Marsha) White, and Jon White; her dear friend Linda Binkley; and her beloved pet Bentley. Patricia was further blessed with 8 additional grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren, each of whom added immense joy to her life.
A proud graduate of Camden Central High School, Patricia majored in Secretarial work and furthered her education at the Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, New York. She began her professional career at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, New York, before she relocated to Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. It was there she met and married Harry Lazenby in 1966 and was married until he passed in 1994. She then moved back to Utah where she reconnected with and married long time friend Raymond White on February 23, 1995. Patricia retired from her career in 1971 due to medical reasons, but her contributions to her field were notable and respected.
Patricia was a devoted community member and leader. She served as Guardian of Jobs Daughters and was Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Barstow. Pat was Queen Uarda Temple, Daughters of the Nile in 1991 and 1992 in Utica, NY. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her community work and into her personal passions, including her deep involvement in her church and her love for travel. Alongside Ray, she explored the world, visiting countries such as China, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Turkey, and Greece, and enjoyed annual trips to Hawaii.
Known for her vibrant personality, Patricia was a true spitfire – unapologetically direct, delightfully sharp-witted, and never hesitant to tell it like it was. Her friendly nature and love for connecting with people, and zest for life left an impression on all who knew her. Her favorite color was red, a reflection of her bold spirit, perfectly captured by the red convertible she once proudly drove.
There will be a celebration for Patricia on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church, located at 163 W Laker Wy., Ogden, Utah 84405. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to the service.
