IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia
Patrick
March 23, 1941 – July 16, 2024
Patricia Ann Patrick of Clearfield, Utah, slipped quietly into the arms of our Heavenly Father on July 16, 2024. She lived 83 glorious years.
Her life began on March 23, 1941. Her father, Richard Stoker Smith, and her mother, Ruth Hamilton Smith, lived in Brigham City, Utah. However, she would tell you that her life really began in the fall of 1956, when she met a young man whom she instantly gravitated toward. After their sweet meeting, his words to a friend were that he would marry her one day, and that he did. On her 16th birthday, March 23, 1957, she received one of the greatest gifts of her life when she married her best friend, Billie W. Patrick, Sr. Their blissful marriage of nearly 66-years included welcoming five children into the world: Billie Wayne Jr., Bobby Jo, Bruce Lane, Brent DeVaughn, and Babette Ann. Their home was a safe haven for many, so it is not surprising that they also adopted Danny Martin Sam Jr., and embraced Raynette Marian Tucker into their family.
Her life included being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother—all roles that she fulfilled with great love and pride. Her home was a sanctuary and a primary gathering place for her family. A countless number of happy family events, holidays, and homecomings were held at her home because it truly was a safe place where all were welcomed. Plus, it gave her great joy to see that her family always knew their way home, which essentially was back to her kind and warm heart. When asked what some of her happiest memories were in her lifetime, she simply said the days her children and grandchildren were born because she valued her family above all else. She expressed that she felt lucky to have found true love; a love that endured for nearly seven decades as well as long after her beloved was called home to Heaven. If anything lasts forever, it was their love for each other.
She will be remembered for the deep commitment she had to her husband and family, her dedication to her faith and church, and her ability to light up a room with a laugh, a smile, and a warm embrace. She was a model to others on how to offer unconditional love, especially to her beloved children and grandchildren. She was a beautiful person. She was witty and fun, loved animals, treasured the Green Bay Packers, and was an avid reader. She was known to say that a person can travel anywhere in the world through the pages of a good book.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Wayne Sr., two of her sons, Bobby Jo and Danny Martin, and two of her sisters, Janice P. Smith Cheney and Rickie Marie Smith Covell.
She is survived by her children Billie Wayne Jr. of Clearfield, UT; Dana (wife of Bobby Jo) of Houston, TX; Bruce Lane (Heidi) of West Point, UT; Brent DeVaughn (Michele) of Layton, UT; MaryBeth (wife of Danny Martin), of Oceanside, CA; Babette Ann (Dean) of Ogden, UT; Raynette Marian (James) of Flagstaff, AZ; her brother, Michael Richard Smith of Pleasant View, UT; her sister, Laura Jean Smith Higgins of Layton, UT; her 19 grandchildren, her many great grandchildren, and her first great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers or cards, simply go home and love your family. Time is precious.
We love you forever, our sweet Trish, Mom, and Gran. You will be eternally missed.
