Patty Gidley Swindell, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 12, 2018. She was born November 28, 1948, to Glen A. and Dolores S. Gidley, in Ogden, Utah. Patty graduated from Bonneville High School in 1967. She married Dennis Swindell on March 29, 1970, and later divorced. She devoted her career to education, working for the Ogden School District for 27 years. She loved telling stories, inspiring others and was always willing to help in any way possible. She cherished the love and laughter that her friends brought to her life, but the moments that brought her the greatest joys were spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Left to honor and remember her love are her mother, Dolores S. Gidley; her son, Dusty (Wendy) Swindell; her daughter, Lacey (Spencer) King; adopted daughter, Lacy (Alex) Daniels; her five grandchildren, Talia, Amaia, Skyler, Ian, and Gemma; her brothers; sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her son, Cody; her sister, Susan; her niece, Britney; and her father, Glen. The family would like to thank her amazing friends, her angels, who have gone above and beyond to help her through her illness. Memorial Services will be held Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 5:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
