IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul H
Rael
December 15, 1963 – December 18, 2025
Paul H. Rael, age 62, of Ogden, Utah, passed away on December 18, 2025, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.
Paul was born on December 15, 1963, to Betty Hufstetler Rael and Harry "Ray" Rael. He was the youngest of four children, growing up alongside his siblings Cyndy, Randy, and Scott. As the "baby" of the family, Paul had a special way of keeping things lively—a trait he carried with him throughout his life and shared generously with everyone around him.
Paul attended Ben Lomond High School and went on to become a plumber by trade. He worked for many years with his uncle Phil Rael in the family business, Rael Plumbing & Heating Co., and was always willing to take on side jobs to help others. Paul was known as someone who would do anything for anyone—if you needed a hand, he was there; if you needed a laugh, he had one ready; and if you needed help, he would give you the shirt off his back.
Paul loved the outdoors and found his greatest peace in nature. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family. You could often find him at Sheep Creek; a place he truly called home.
Paul shared 20 years of his life with Evelyn Rael, to whom he was married for several years.
To some, Paul was a son or a brother, to others, a father or a grandfather. To many of his nieces and nephews, he was simply "Uncle Buck." But to all who knew him, he was a man whose kindness was as vast as the lakes he fished and the mountains he hunted.
Paul is survived by his girlfriend, Cathy Wilson; his children, Josh (Crystal) Landrith, Kimberly Wilson, Taynae (Derrick) Conroy, and Ray Rael; his siblings, Cyndy (Kevin) Daniels, Randy Rael (Stacey King), and Scott (Andrea Vandehei) Rael; and many cherished grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Hufstetler Rael and Harry "Ray" Rael.
Rest in peace, Paul. You have cast your final line, and it was a life well caught.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, at 6:00 PM, at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403.
