TOGETHER AGAIN

Peggy Ellsworth Taylor passed away August 23, 2026, in West Haven, Utah. She was born October 17, 1952, in Ogden, Utah, to Clyde E. & Shirley Alberts Ellsworth. She was the second of six children.

Peggy grew up in Washington Terrace, graduating in 1970 from Bonneville High School. While still in high school she met the love of her life, Scott A. Taylor. They were married in 1972 in Hooper, Utah, and spent the next 51 years together until Scott’s passing in November of 2023.

After their marriage, they lived in Ogden, where they were actively involved in the New Age movement, including gathering and learning about crystals & rocks, and then teaching classes on the subject.

They were “cat parents,” taking in strays to provide them with a better quality of life. The cats and crystals were their babies.

Peggy worked at Hill Air Force Base as a jet engine mechanic for many years. Chasing a dream, Scott & Peggy moved to Durango, Colorado, where they spent many happy years living, loving, and spreading their light.

As they do, the years rolled by and they moved back home to Utah. Peggy’s family and friends are very thankful that they were able to reconnect and spend good, quality time with her.

Peggy spent her last few years at Loftus Park Assisted Living. There, her reputation was as a kind, loving, gentle person, with a constant smile. They told us how Peggy became a metaphor (of sorts) for new staff and residents, saying “you need to go out and find your Peggy,” meaning a person who brings a calm inner spirit, or "whatever helps you tune your wind chimes.”

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Monty Ellsworth; and her sister, Debra Ellsworth. She is survived by her two brothers, Michael C. Ellsworth of Farmington, and Jeffrey D. Ellsworth; and her sister, Deon Pelz of Ogden.

The family would like to express their gratitude to those at Loftus Park who cared for Peggy. Also, special thanks to her home health team from Symbii, especially Lexi. You were her ally, and very much loved and appreciated.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403. Services may be moved inside at the same location in the case of inclement weather.
