Penrose (Penny) Marie Bradovich
September 14, 1948 – April 27, 2026
Penrose (Penny) Marie Bradovich, 77, also known as Penny Faras (maiden name) and Penny Vail (previous marriage) passed away peacefully at Lotus Park Memory Care in West Haven, Utah.
Penny was born in Chisholm, Minnesota to parents Anthony Faras and Rose Drechnik Faras. She graduated from Chisholm Senior High in 1966, earned an Associate’s Degree from Hibbing Junior College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University, and a Master’s Degree in Health Care Management from University of St. Thomas.
She worked in a variety of high-level executive positions in health care including Director of Clinic Services at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale, Minnesota; Chief Operating Officer at Orthopaedic Consultants, P.A., St. Louis Park, Minnesota; and Administrator at Minnesota Lung Center/Minnesota Sleep Institute, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Penny met the love of her life at her 40th high school reunion in 2006. She and Tom had a long-distance relationship between Minnesota and Utah for eight months, after which Tom realized he could not live without her. Tom moved to Minnesota and they were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Nicolett Island Inn, Minneapolis on December 31, 2007.
Upon their retirement in 2013, Tom and Penny moved to Grand Marais, Minnesota where Penny volunteered her time, knowledge, and expertise in clinic operations as a board member with Care Partners of Cook County, Sawtooth Mountain Clinic, and North Shore Health Care Foundation.
She loved music, dancing, animals (especially dogs), watching for the first robins of Spring, and feeding hummingbirds. She was a natural-born leader, great mentor, and strong supporter of her employees. She was a champion of women, always promoting growth and development in others. Penny was both respected and loved by her employees and colleagues. Her sparkling personality, million-dollar smile, wit, and playful demeanor shined in all she did and won over everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Penny is survived by her loving and devoted husband Tom; brother Tony (Cindy) Faras; niece Stacy (Matt) Brzica; nephew Sean (Ali) Faras; grand-nieces/nephews Maddy, Kate, Maggie, Matthew, Haedyn, AJ; step-children Sunnie (Christian) Cross, Nikki (Landon) Hampshire, Tyler (Whitney Francis) Bradovich; step-grandchildren Alex, Halle, Gage, Ada, Cara.
Per Penny’s wishes, she was cremated and her ashes will be scattered at her favorite hiking trail in Utah, her parent’s gravesite in Chisholm, and in Grand Marais, Minnesota. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Minnesota.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the supportive staff who cared for Penny at Lotus Park Memory Care.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
