Obituary

Peter Reuel Cassiere, 83, passed away October 8, 2013. He was born, May 2, 1930 in West Hollywood, CA to Alphonse T. Cassiere and Grace E. Johnston. He graduated from Chaffee HS, Cal State, Fullerton, and WSU. Peter married Shirley D. Hard on Sept. 6, 1953 in Vallejo, CA. Peter joined the US Navy in 1947, received the Korean Service Medal and Navy Occupation Medal. Thereafter received the Honorable Discharge in 1952. He then met and married the love of his life, Shirley and was married for over 60 years. Peter was a member of the San Bernardino Free Masons. He worked at Norton AFB, Autonetics and Hill AFB until retirement in 1985. Peter and Shirley gave their love and support to countless foster kids and babys for many years. When they moved to Utah in 1973, they continued to share their love with several foreign exchange students. Peter is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Lynette (John) Curtis, Michelle (Matt) Bick and Bonnie DeWilde; son, Lex (Kelly) Cassiere; 8 grandchildren: Amy, Wes, Lex L., Johnny, Bobby, Ryan, Christean and London; 2 great grandchildren, Conner and Jackson; and sister, Chris Kelsey. Family wishes to express appreciation to the faculty and patients at the Farmington Bay Dialysis Center. There will be an open house on Sunday October 13, 2013 at his house, 4092 S. 850 W. Riverdale, from 1-3 p.m. to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers the family requests that because Peters most treasured charity was family, we would invite everyone to spend a moment with your loved ones in his memory.
