Phyllis died peacefully February 2, 2016 after a very brief fight with lung cancer. She was born to Herbert Eugene and Hazel Lillian McNeil Hobson in Brigham City, Utah. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School. She married Richard Martin Nicholas (Nick) and spent 54 loving years with him. She was a loving, caring, stay at home mom to her daughter, Leslie Ann Nicholas Earle and son, Richard Eugene Nicholas. She was very proud of her children but nothing could compare to the love and joy she felt when she became Grammie to her grandsons, Jesse Richard Nicholas Earle and Trevor Raymond Earle! They were definitely her shining stars! Phyllis enjoyed our family get togethers! No one made a better shrimp salad than she did. She enjoyed her hairdo appointments and visits with Linda. She enjoyed her afternoons with Nick at The Horse visiting with all of their wonderful friends there. After dad died, her friends made sure she got to her hair appointments and started a weekly lunch date that she thoroughly enjoyed. She made some very special new friends too. She also enjoyed her neighbor friends who came to visit, bring food, gifts and fix the TV! Phyllis loved you all dearly! Phyllis is survived by her children, Leslie and Rick; grandchildren, Jesse and Trevor; brother, Max Hobson; sister-in-laws, Linda Hobson and Myril Hobson and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Martin Nicholas (Nick); parents, Herbert and Hazel; sister, Darlene; brothers, Albert, Harry and Jack and many other loved family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. John Hemmersmeier for, again, providing the best care for mom. Also, thanks to Shelby and Natalie from Access Hospice. We didnt have you for long but are so thankful to you for the care you gave mom. Anyone who knew Phyllis will never forget her! She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was kind, easy to love and will be greatly missed by many. One thing for sure, there is a happy reunion going on in Heaven! Phyllis requested a closed casket visitation to be held at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Graveside Services will follow at 11:00 am at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden, Utah. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
