Rae Brinley Sorensen passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the age of 90. She was born November 2, 1924 in Ursine, Nevada, to J. Harold and Vera Lee Brinley and spent her youth in Las Vegas, Nevada. After graduating from Las Vegas High School in 1942, Rae attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Rae married William T. (Ted) Sorensen on April 19, 1952 in the St. George Utah LDS Temple. Rae was always energetic throughout her life and eager to share her many talents. In her early years, she was an accomplished ballet dancer and sang in church and local community choirs. During her husbands 30-year military career, Rae enjoyed living in London, England; Bethesda, Maryland; Ewa Beach, Hawaii; and Monterey, California. She volunteered her time and talents to several Navy relief organizations and efforts. Rae also performed throughout California as a member of the Monterey Choral Society. In later years, Rae served for 32 years at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah with over 22,000 hours of volunteer service. Rae was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in various church callings within the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Surviving is her husband, Ted, her daughter Toni (Dennis) Bills of Fruit Heights, Utah; and three grandchildren, Jared and Jordan Bills and Staci (Dallan) Grange. Rae was preceded in death by her sister, Audrey. She is loved and will be fondly remembered as "Aunt Rae" by her many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park 836-36th Street Ogden, UT with Bishop Todd Stevenson officiating.
